AI that actually plans your project

Turn a spec into a real, editable plan in minutes — phases, tasks, dependencies and test plans, not just a summary. Bring your own key, from whichever of the big three you already trust.

Spec in, plan out

The blank-project problem, solved from a document — or a paragraph.

Creating a project starts with the brief rather than a form. Drop the client's document in and Waymarq reads it on the spot — even naming the project for you, from the filename where that helps and from the document's own opening where it doesn't.

From there you get a phased breakdown of tasks back — not a single wall of bullet points, but real phases, each task carrying its own written specification you can read and edit, an estimate, and its immediate dependencies already wired up. What would take an hour of manually splitting a brief into a board happens before you've finished your coffee.

No spec document? Describe the project in your own words instead. Waymarq saves what you write as the project's spec, so everything works exactly as it would with an uploaded brief — and rewriting it keeps each version rather than overwriting it.

Only have an idea? Let AI interview you — a short round of questions about what you're building, who it's for, scope, budget and timeline — then write your answers up into a real brief. You can even send the questions to your client to fill in. Skippable at every step, and the brief it produces feeds the same plan as everything else.

Review it, adjust anything that's wrong, and it's an ordinary project from that point on — nothing about it is second-class.

Phases and tasks generated from a specification document, each task carrying its own written brief, ready to review and edit.

It asks the questions you'd ask

Before the plan gets built on a guess.

AI can draft a round of clarifying questions straight from the spec — the gaps and ambiguities a careful project manager would catch on a first read. Answer them yourself, or send the round to your client through a link that needs no login. Their answers feed straight back into the plan.

Bring your own AI key

Waymarq doesn't sell AI. You choose it.

Turn on a provider per organisation — Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT), or Google (Gemini), with more on the way — using your own API key. Waymarq never marks it up, resells it, or routes it through a hosted model of its own: you pay your provider directly, at their price, and pick the model you already trust.

The same key does double duty. It's what powers the in-app planning above, and it's exactly what an external coding agent — Claude Code, or anything that can make HTTP requests — uses when you point it at Waymarq's REST API to build a project on your behalf instead.

See exactly what it cost

No surprise at the end of the month.

Every AI call is logged with the tokens it used and the operation it was for, rolled up per project and account-wide in a dedicated report. You're not guessing what generating a breakdown costs versus answering one clarifying round — it's right there.

Optional, and it'll stay that way

Nothing above is required to get full use of Waymarq. Every board, budget and report on this site works exactly the same with no provider configured — AI is switched on per organisation, never assumed. It's just that once it is on, it's genuinely the fastest way from a spec to a working plan.
