Clients and winning work

Email into Waymarq

BCC an address and the email lands on the client's timeline; send to a project's address and it becomes a request.

A CRM whose activity log has to be filled in by hand decays in a fortnight. So Waymarq gives every client — and every project — an email address it can receive at.

A client's address

On a client's page, under the activity timeline, Email to this timeline creates an address like c-…@in.waymarq.co.uk. BCC it on any email you send that client and the message appears on their timeline — subject, body, who sent it, and the names of any attachments — the moment it arrives. Nothing to remember, nothing to log.

A project's address

On a project's Share page, Email requests here creates a p-… address. Send or forward an email to it and it arrives as a client request on that project, attributed to whoever sent it, with any files attached. Everything that applies to a request from the client's page applies here too — the AI digest, the raise-as-work-order policy, the review page.

Forwarding is the point: a client emails you four things, you forward it to the project's address, and it comes back separated and matched to the plan.

Who can write to it

The address is a credential — treat it like a password. Two protections:

  • Only listed senders get through. People in your organisation and the client's contact are always allowed. Add anyone else under Allowed senders — an address, or a whole domain like @acme.co.uk. Mail from anyone not listed is dropped.
  • Rotate or revoke it any time. New address issues a fresh one and the old stops working immediately; Revoke switches it off.

What it doesn't do

It doesn't read your mailbox — there's no account to connect, nothing to re-authorise, nothing running in the background. It only sees what's sent to the address. And it keeps one entry per message rather than reconstructing threads; the timeline is a record of contact, not a mail client.

If you don't see these cards, inbound email hasn't been set up for your Waymarq installation yet.
